Cal Poly Pomona's official student-run newspaper since 1940, The Poly Post covers daily campus life and local community events to a student body of more than 21,000 and about 2,400 faculty and staff members.
Every year, it is the team's duty to release an annual "Bronco Guide" magazine that exhibits everything about student life at the university. The student writers and designers work feverishly in unison to get the new edition published every year.

THE BRONCO GUIDE
Entire Staff Involved: Writers, Editors, Senior & Junior Graphic Designers
Turnaround Time: 2 Semesters
Before we began designing the Bronco Guide, each designer proposed typefaces that would be used throughout the whole magazine
Once the Typeface was selected, we came up with the rest of the design guide.
After the design guide was made, we each had to create our own versions of the cover.
After consulting with both the design team and editorial staff, the top 2 concepts were chosen and were combined.
MAGAZINE SPREADS
Simultaneously while working on the cover, we all worked on spreads that we were interested in creating. The designers worked closely with the writers to create graphics along with their literature. Spread design always gives me the same feeling as working through a puzzle. It involves a lot of shifting around to see what will fit together.
Overall I have had a great experience working with everyone at The Poly Post.
This was my first internship and I am proud to be part of such an amazing, award winning team.
